In March 2017, The Combe Grove Estate came under the stewardship of The Elmhurst Foundation Charitable Trust, with three key objectives:
- To promote and expand knowledge in the fields of health and wellbeing
- To provide high-quality enhanced apprenticeships for local residents
- To share facilities and expertise for the benefit of the local community
The Estate’s remarkable setting is central to its mission. Situated on 70 acres of wild woodland and meadows, it overlooks Bath, an ancient city known for its therapeutic heritage and healing waters. Drawing on the latest medical research and the restorative power of nature, the Estate facilitates a reconnection with the fundamental needs of the mind and body, fostering enhanced wellbeing, increased vitality, and restored tranquillity.
Having transitioned from a hotel to a Metabolic Health Centre, the Estate now hosts:
- Metabolic Health Programmes
- Metabolic Memberships, supporting a valued local membership in the exploration of physical and mental health
- Combe Grove at Home
- The One Day Reset
Environmental responsibility is a core principle of the Estate. The land management team employs permaculture practices, including no-dig methods, to enhance biodiversity within this distinctive area of the Bath countryside. This approach ensures the conservation of its ecological health for future generations, with sustainability guiding all decisions to enrich the land for those to come.
In alignment with its focus on health and wellbeing, Combe Grove maintains a strict ‘No Smoking and No Alcohol’ policy for all team members, volunteers, and visitors across the Estate.
